Sony cameras that have the 'Smart Remote Control' app, like Alpha 6300. Important: update 'Smart Remote Control' on your camera before using this. To update open 'PlayMemories Camera Apps' and select 'Smart Remote Control' from the list of apps. I dropped my Canon 70D and broke the remote port. So I needed an app with LiveView and programmable remote shutter release. The traditional Canon apps offer LiveView but not the remote *with timer*. The Pro version of the app is relatively cheap compared to a piece of hardware and in my case the only way to have remote connectivity. This app does everything I need for remote shooting with a few annoyances: connection drops often, and it only seems to work in infrastructure mode (i.e. It seems to be easier to re-establish the connection by clearing the cache. Also, was not able to connect to camera in access point mode (i.e. when the camera itself is the access point), so at the moment not able to use the app outside of my home WiFi network. Please fix the access point mode so I can use the app outdoors. I’m into astrophotography and need to use the camera in the mountains, desert etc. Hi, access point mode works with my cameras (6D, 6D2, 1300D). Also make sure to select "Eos Utility mode", if available (the icon that looks like a laptop).
